Abstract: In this work, we performed statistical analysis on data from 362 patients who were admitted to one of eight UPMC Intensive Care Units (ICU) between 2000 and 2008 and developed stage 2 or 3 Acute Kidney Injury (AKI) during their hospitalization. We sought to determine the relationship between patient outcomes (such as costs and mortality) and “time to diagnosis” of AKI (and rate of sCr change over time) based on examining serum creatinine (sCr) trajectories.
