Abstract: Precision health initiatives ask physicians to look at the whole person, including social determinants of health (SDH). In 2014, the Institute of Medicine released Capturing Social and Behavioral Domains and Measures in Electronic Health Records; in 2015, LOINC released a SDH panel, representing a set of measures, as an optional component of Meaningful Use. We sought to examine how SDH variables are recorded pre and post release of a standard SDH code set.
