Abstract Body: In 2013, physicians were first able to take the Clinical Informatics (CI) Board examination. At the conclusion of the 2016 exam cycle, there are 1393 Diplomates in Clinical Informatics through the American Board of Preventive Medicine (ABPM). In this late-breaking session, the Executive director of ABPM and the Chair of the Clinical Informatics Subboard will discuss the development of the examination, the new online application process, and the future of the practice path. Trends in applications and test performance by applicants will be presented. The session will also include a presentation of the planned update of the Clinical Informatics core content by AMIA and the ABPM. The will also be a significant opportunity for attendee questions and answers. Christoph U. Lehmann is the ABPM Clinical Informatics Subboard Chair and Professor of Biomedical Informatics and Pediatrics at Vanderbilt University Medical Center. Benson S. Munger is the Interim Executive Director of American Board of Preventive Medicine and one of the foremost national experts on topics related to physician certification and graduate medical education. Howard D. Silverman is a Professor in the Department of Biomedical Informatics at the University of Arizona College of Medicine – Phoenix.
